Science has proved repeatedly that synthetic products are not as well tolerated as natural vitamins supplements. Unlike the ones extracted from various herbs, pharmaceutical compounds sold under the name of mineral and vitamin supplements require a high effort on the part of the body for adequate and healthy processing. Moreover, the assimilation rate of synthetic compounds is a lot lower than that of natural vitamin supplements, which is why the latter are usually favored when it comes to diet support. Presently, it is beyond any doubt that the best source of vitamins and minerals is Mother Nature, and this “nature-oriented” trend is gaining prominence.

Natural vitamin supplements do not overload the body and immediately pass into the blood flow, once they are identified as easy to process. Many people have actually taken the habit of administrating the natural vitamin supplements during meals because of the widespread belief that they will be better absorbed. As a matter of fact, natural vitamin supplements do not depend on specific times of the day in order to have an optimum action, they can be taken with or without food, any time you like. The general recommendation is that you administrate the supplement in the morning, so as to benefit from the boost of energy throughout the entire work day.

Plenty of herbs, fruits and vegetables lie at the basis of the manufacturing process of natural vitamin supplements. Lemons, limes and kiwis for instance provide a great source of vitamin C, but little do people know that the wild rose extract is even richer in vitamin C. Hence, don’t be surprised to read the name of such a herb on the natural vitamin supplements you are taking. Over the last decade, there has also been an upsurge in the interest shown towards the great benefits of certain seaweed and algae for human health.

Natural vitamin supplements that include high concentrations of spirulina, chlorella and other green-blue algae are totally positive in the action they have on the body. Unlike any other vitamin and mineral supplement, they have absolutely no side effects, allowing long-term or indefinite administration. Actually, in certain parts of the world, such seaweeds are part of the regular diet of native African tribes that prepare them in bread-like food items. All in all, the popularity of such natural miraculous remedies can definitely mean one thing: people are every day more preoccupied with the return to natural vitamin supplements.

By: Muna wa Wanjiru

About the Author:

really need to take a natural vitamin supplement? Today’s modern society ensures that most people are getting a good, steady diet which contains many of the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals needed to maintain health. However, the statistics regarding the vast amount of fast food being consumed is cause for worry. Nutritional deficiencies can no longer be attributed to lack of access to good food, but more likely are caused by the inability to make good diet choices. The answer to providing the body with all it needs is to take a natural vitamin supplement. After all, our bodies cannot manufacture these substances on their own so supplements fill the gap between diet and nutrition.

A natural vitamin supplement has other benefits, as well. They provide a boost to our immune systems, enabling us to fight disease. The harmful effect of toxins, such as those absorbed in the body through chemicals in the environment, are also ameliorated by vitamins and minerals.

What to look for in a natural vitamin supplement? The first thing consumers need to be aware of is that vitamins will only work correctly in conjunction with minerals. Always look for a natural vitamin supplement which also contains various minerals along with herb extracts, amino acids, bioflavonoids, and antioxidants. This is the best combination to teat a variety of problems and boosts the body’s nutrients.

However, there is no one combination of vitamins and minerals which will be best for everyone. Men’s and women’s needs are different, as are those for children and older adults. Many natural vitamin supplements are packaged and sold as meeting the nutritional needs of specific demographics. Most will contain at least the basic vitamins many people are familiar with: the B vitamins, vitamin C, D, and E, folic acid, and niacin, along with herbs and minerals. An enteric coating allows them to be absorbed gradually into the body.

Is there a benefit to natural vitamins over synthetic? While there is nothing harmful about taking a synthetic vitamin supplement, natural should always be the consumer’s first choice. Studies have shown that such substances as vitamin E in a natural form are more readily absorbed by the body and they remain active in the system for a longer period of time. The conclusion seems to be that humans are more receptive to natural vitamins and that they have the most positive effect on health.

Many people choose synthetic vitamins merely because they tend to be cheaper than the natural varieties. But when it comes to something as important as your body’s health and nutrition, is it really worth it to go with the least expensive option?

The best deals for natural vitamin supplements can be found online. There are a number of companies which offer substantial discounts, particularly for large quantities of multivitamin and mineral supplements. Choose the company carefully, however, and don’t be taken in by outrageous health claims or cheaper products which have been packaged to appear as natural.

By: Paul Easton

About the Author:

The use of natural vitamin supplements is good for human hair. It has been proven that due to stressful life style and lack of nutritious diets people are losing their hair in young age.

Modern diets have contributed to the bad health of people. It is seen that the food taken by people lacks in nutritional quality. Given the circumstances, intake of nutritional intake is a good idea. Natural vitamin supplements and herbal nutritional supplements are useful for general health as well as health of hair. Many people take natural vitamin supplements to make up for the lack of nutrition in their food.

There are vitamins useful for hair as well as general health. Some vitamins useful for hair are the following:

•	Vitamin A – An antioxidant, vitamin A helps to produce healthy sebum in the scalp. People should take 5, 000 IU of intake per day. This vitamin is found in food like fish, meat, cheese, liver oil, eggs, cabbage, milk, carrots, spinach, broccoli, apricots and peaches.

•	Vitamin B2 – Intestinal flora is responsible for the production of vitamin B2 in the human body. This vitamin is required by the human body for metabolism of amino acids, fatty acids and carbohydrates. It is most beneficial for the skin, hair and nails. Its deficiency may result in hair loss. Vitamin B2 should be a part of natural vitamin supplements you take.

•	Vitamin B6 – The presence of vitamin B6 prevents hair loss and helps in production of melanin, the pigment which gives hair its color. Vitamin B6 is found in food such as liver, grains, cereals, vegetables, meat and egg yolk. It should be taken in the amount of 1.6 mg per day. It plays a key role in red blood cell metabolism and cellular growth. Vitamin B6 is also responsible for the production of hemoglobin, a compound within the red blood cells that carries oxygen to body tissue.

•	Vitamin B3 – Vitamin B3 is more effective when it is used in combination with biotin. It has a positive effect on hair growth by reducing cholesterol, which when produced in the scalp sebaceous glands can trigger the formation of DHT.

•	Vitamin C – It is a natural anti-oxidant and helps maintain healthy hair and skin. It should be taken in the amount of 60 mg per day. It is richly found in citrus fruit, kiwi, pineapple, tomato, green pepper, potato, green pepper, etc.

•	Vitamin E – It is found in soybean, dried bean and green vegetables. This vitamin is helpful in hair growth as it increases scalp blood circulation. It should be taken in the amount of 400 IU daily.

With the proper use of natural vitamin supplements and herbal nutritional supplements you can improve your health that will contribute to the overall improvement in your life.

By: Russell Blank

About the Author:

Natural vitamins are essential to healthy life. There are many different types of vitamins; each of them has its own specific benefit to various parts and functions of the human body. If the human body is afflicted without the essential natural vitamins just for a short period of time, it leads to disease and sickness as a result. Vitamins can help prevent disease in two main ways: by preventing the deficiency syndromes of the particular vitamin and through the health benefits conferred at the expense of vitamin balance. As you know vitamin A is important for our vision. It is also important for bone growth, reproduction, cell division and cell differentiation. In the same way other natural vitamins promote your health support.

There are two types of vitamins:

Water-Soluble – These vitamins (B and C complex) do not tend to accumulate in our body organs and usually their reserves depletion happens very quickly. As you can see it is very important to have regular daily intakes of these vitamins.

Fat-Soluble – Vitamins A, D, E and K stay in the body as they are accumulated in the liver.

• Vitamin A is responsible for vision, normal bone and tooth development, reproduction, skin health; mitigate the risk of certain cancers.

• Vitamin B complex maintains the central nervous system, is necessary for the synthesis and breakdown of amino acids, essential to healthy skin;

• Vitamin C participates in collagen creation, builds up blood vessels, skin, teeth and bones and rids the body of free radicals.

• Vitamin E – This is a strong antioxidant that protects joints from free radicals, very important for healthy skin.

• Vitamin K – This vitamin assists with mineral deposit into the bone matrix.

Today with “natural vitamins” more is meant than meets the eye, for the first eye it seems to be vitamins taken from natural products. But unfortunately that is not so. It should seem these organic nutrients are in supply if we bring to bear enough fresh fruit and vegetables. Due to the following factors, it is not always possible for us to get the necessary vitamins (even we eat enough of fresh fruit and vegetables): impoverished soil, modern processing methods, pollution, and popularity of Junk food. So with “natural vitamins” any type of qualitative vitamins is meant.

It turns out that you can feel reliance in fresh fruit and vegetable only if you know best where they were grown and how fresh are they. As an alternative many people now have to take vitamin supplements. Sometimes it is the optimum choice, but it is of primal importance to prefer good vitamin complex. A good multivitamin is the foundation of health and nutrition. There are very few companies that actually manufacture their own products.

Quality standards greatly affect how and whether a supplement is absorbed and utilized by the body. A manufacturer can create a tablet that looks identical to a quality product but is nothing more than a replica. Replicas do not deliver the potency and results you desire.

DECEPTIVE LABELING

Reading a label carefully and understanding what the label actually means are important when purchasing any product. This is particularly true when comparing labels on vitamins.

Understanding Mineral Potency (Example: Calcium)

The elemental amount of calcium refers to the exact weight or potency of calcium a formula provides. (The same is true for all other minerals.)

Some labels clearly list the elemental weight and are therefore simple to understand.

Example A:

Elemental Calcium…………………………………………………….250 mg.

(Equivalent to 1,111 mg. Calcium Amino Acid Chelate)

In Example A, you are receiving 250 mg. of actual calcium, and 1,111 mg. refers to the combined weight of the calcium and amino acids.

If the label does not clearly list the elemental amount, you must then have a further understanding of interpreting the label information.

Example B:

Calcium (Gluconate)………………………………………………….1,000 mg.

Example C:

Calcium Gluconate………………………………………………….1,000 mg.

At first glance, Examples B & C appear to be the same formula, but they are not. When, the chelating agent (Example B, gluconate) appears in parentheses, it represents the “source” of the calcium supplied in the formula. The potency of 1,000 mg. listed is the actual amount of elemental calcium you are receiving. However, in Example C, when the chelating agent does not appear in parentheses, the 1,000 mg. represents the weight of the calcium together with gluconic acid, and the amount of calcium you are receiving is only a small percentage of the potency listed. In Example C, you would actually receive only 9.3% or 93 mg. of actual calcium.

Example B is an honest and intelligible label, as it clearly represents the actual amount of elemental calcium the tablet will provide. Example C, although technically not mislabeled, appears to offer much more calcium than is actually provided and is very often misunderstood by consumers.

Natural vs. Synthetic

(Example: Vitamin E)

The word natural can, unfortunately, sometimes be misleading. In the case of vitamin E, a manufacturer can use a blend of 10% natural vitamin E and 90% synthetic vitamin E and still label the product natural vitamin E. using synthetic vitamin E, which is 40% cheaper, a manufacturer can greatly reduce the quality of a product to reduce his manufacturing cost.

To protect the consumer, a manufacturer should properly list the chemical name in the contents description. Natural vitamin E begins with d; synthetic begins with dl.

“Natural vitamin E is officially recognized as having 36% greater potency than its synthetic counterpart…However, recent studies of human subjects indicate that natural vitamin E is probably twice as effective as synthetic vitamin E.”

These are just two examples of how to properly read a vitamin label. Your best source of educational support is your health care practitioner. Your practitioner should be able to provide you with even further information verifying why all vitamins are not created equal.

Government Standards

FACT: A consumer would assume that a vitamin contains the potency listed on the label.

GOVERNMENT STANDARD: Only 90% of the vitamin potency listed on the label has to be in a product at the time of shipping.

FACT: A vitamin starts losing its potency the minute it’s made. If not manufactured properly, a vitamin can be up to 50% weaker than the label claim by the time you purchase the product.

GOVERNMENT STANDARD: There are only minimal government guidelines, not requirements, regarding product storage (light, temperature, moisture, etc.), inventory rotation, particle granulation or product coating, all of which affect the potency and quality of a vitamin.

FACT: Even though vitamins are perishable items, manufacturers are not required to prove that their products last for an extended period of time. Remember, light, heat, moisture and oxidation rapidly destroy vitamin potency.

GOVERNMENT STANDARD: After a vitamin is manufactured, vitamin companies are not required to conduct shelf life testing to see how product potency is affected over time.

FACT: Even though vitamin supplements are essential to your health, there is no law requiring that vitamin supplements be tested during the manufacturing process.

GOVERNMENT STANDARD: A quality control laboratory is not required in a vitamin manufacturing facility.

(How do you manufacture quality vitamins without a quality control laboratory? Good question! Moreover, most vitamin companies do not even manufacture their own products.)

Here is how you can check if a company manufactures its own products. If a product is actually made by the company, the label should say “Manufactured by______________.” Manufacturing the product is the first step in quality control. Companies that have their products manufactured by a private label house and just market the products must use phrases such as “Manufactured for ________________,” “Distributed by _____________,” or any other wording that expresses these facts.

ARE YOU GETTING YOUR MONEY’S WORTH?

Several years ago, a visiting scholar at Rockefeller university in New York City and a noted author of many books on nutrition, Dr. Michael Colgan, had researched the effects of vitamins. The following is an excerpt from his findings as published in an Omni magazine article.

“…And the food-processing industry? Oh, they’re interested in my work,” Colgan smiles. “They offer me weekends, give me the stretch-limousine treatment. Actually, though, I’m more disillusioned by drug companies that make vitamins. Many are run by people who know nothing about nutrition, have not one qualified person on the executive staff. Or, if they have, these people spend all their time in other research and never come in contact with the vitamins that are being produced by the firm. There is so much rubbish on the market,” he adds abruptly. “The majority of vitamins in health-food stores are rubbish!”

WHAT IS A REPLICA?

A replica is a poor copy of an original, always reproduced by those who lack the creativity of the originator. unfortunately, since it is not their creation, they also lack the pride and know-how that go hand in hand with original creativity.

Since the very purpose of a replica is to mimic the outward appearance of the real thing and to make money by passing off a poor copy, corners are always cut to make a greater profit at the expense of quality. A replica is a sham, which attempts to make up in appearance what it lacks in substance.

Honest Representations

As long as the product you’ve purchased has been honestly represented as an imitation and you’ve paid a fraction of the cost of the original, you have not been taken advantage of. You have knowingly sacrificed quality for price by your own choice.

When A Replica Is Sold As The Real Thing…Look Out!

Whenever someone is passing off a replica as an original or attempting to say that the replica is equal in quality to the original, LOOK OuT, because a fraud is being committed at your expense. If the price you pay for a replica is half the price of the real thing but the quality is only 5% of the real thing, you have still paid 10 times too much. Since you’ve been promised quality and you did not get what you expected, you have been deceived and cheated. We’ve all had the experience of buying a copy of a product for less money and coming home to find that this replica lacked substance, lacked quality, and most importantly did not produce the results expected from the original, and we had in fact been taken advantage of.

Why Do companies Make Replicas?

Companies make replicas primarily for one reason…to make money. These companies have no investment and therefore take no pride in the product they sell, sacrificing quality for the greatest profit.

These dollar-oriented operators have no understanding of the health food industry, have no investment in the industry, and therefore have nothing to lose. They have no interest in you the consumer, but they do have a clear interest in making money at your expense.

When You Buy A Vitamin Replica, You Are Losing A Great Deal More Than Just Your Money

Those of us who are concerned enough about our families to pay the extra money for the added benefits of natural vitamins go into a health food store not just to purchase vitamins but also to seek the specific health benefits that those vitamins will produce for ourselves and our families. Some call this the “Feeling of Nutritional Well Being”.

“The Feeling of Nutritional Well Being” is the very quality of your life. It would be a tragedy to experiment with replicas at the expense of your most valuable treasures…the health and well-being of both you and your family.

Are Your Vitamins Releasing The Energy You Need?

Since most vitamins cannot be manufactured in the body, they must be supplied by our diet. Vitamins are essential to release energy in foods. But our food supply does not guarantee the potency of vitamins. Therefore, a guarantee of potency from the company that supplies your vitamins is essential. This guarantee of potency is vital for the increased energy and feeling of well-being you are seeking. “When a vitamin is in short supply, the lack of a functional coenzyme handicaps a reaction in the pathway. The overall effect of the deficiency is diminished energy production.”

The decrease in energy from the lack of proper nutrition sometimes surfaces in obvious forms such as scurvy or rickets. But often the symptoms of the lack of a vitamin are much more subtle. “Since nerve cells are particularly sensitive to a decreased energy supply, they reflect deficiencies rather rapidly. Irritability, lethargy, apathy, fatigue, and nervous disorders are typical B-vitamin deficiencies.”

Checkout my site Right Here Don’t Wait

By: Willam Bradely

About the Author:

If you type in a search on the internet for Vitamin C, you will come up with a lot of references that say synthetic C or ascorbic acid is the exact same thing as natural C. Is this a true statement?

Well, the facts are that vitamin C is actually a group of nutrients that work together synergistically. Real vitamin C is found in whole foods like camu camu berries or oranges contains not only ascorbic acid, but rutin, bioflavonoids, factors K, J and P, tyrosinase and more. Ascorbic acid is actually just the outer ring that acts as a protective shell for the C complex, kind of like the peel of a lemon is the protective outer covering of a lemon!

Research has shown that natural vitamin C is far more potent at lower dosages than synthetic C. Many people who have stopped using mega doses of synthetic C and now use just 100 to 200 mgs of a natural whole food based Quantum C Complex product have reported greater immune boosting results. This C Complex contains camu camu and acerola berries, which are some of the richest sources of natural C.

Synthetic C vitamin is made in a lab and is just ascorbic acid. In fact, perhaps there’s a reason why you can find lots of internet sites that say that synthetic C is identical to the natural kind. Around 99 percent of all vitamin C products on the marketplace today are synthetic, often made from genetically modified corn sugar. So that’s what most people are selling. But don’t forget, synthetic C only contains one component of the real, natural C complex.

A Hungarian biochemist, Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgi, was the one to originally identify C, and his research clearly showed the benefits of using natural vitamin C instead of the synthetic one. Much of the research showing the health benefits of C was conducted using whole foods high in the C complex, NOT synthetic C.

In fact, did you know that two of the main producers of vitamin C today are Merck and the China Pharmacuetical Group of the People’s Republic of China? Do you think that’s right that your vitamin comes from a company that makes drugs? Well, perhaps if it’s synthetic that’s appropriate, since studies have shown that the body treats synthetic vitamins in a similar way that it does drugs.

The synthetic version of C is not only NOT the same thing as the natural C complex, but taking synthetic ascorbic acid can actually make the body more acidic over time, because the body must use its calcium stores to neutralize the acid. So over time, synthetic vitamin C products may actually have a negative effect on your body. Make sure you don’t get a synthetic product with a little bit of acerola or rose hips added in. If it’s still mostly synthetic C, it will have much the same effect. Either just eat the whole food or find a potent whole food C complex.

By: Karen Pijuan

About the Author:

Just like humans, animals also need a balanced diet that contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats and water. However, for a healthy diet these are only the starting point. Vitamins and minerals are also needed by pets to keep healthy. Theoretically everything our pets need for a healthy and balanced diet is provided through high quality food. Less physical activity is accomplished by pets today than they used to. Important nutrients are destroyed by cooking and processing the food, so it is very important to look into a pet vitamin supplement. Metabolism can also be helped by a pet vitamin supplement.

Vitamins

Natural and synthetic are the two main groups of vitamins. Food sources contain the natural vitamins while synthetic ones are produced in labs to mirror their natural counterparts. There is no difference chemically, but a synthetic pet vitamin supplement will contain only the isolated substances that work more effectively in cases of deficiency. Other nutrients are included in natural pet vitamin supplements and can provide additional benefitsAmino Acids Supplements Information.

Minerals

To ensure proper chemical balance in body fluids, blood and bone formation, proper nerve function, as well as muscle tone regulation then minerals are also required. As with vitamins, mineral supplements should only be taken in reasonable amounts otherwise they may do more harm. For example, excessive amounts of zinc can deplete copper.

Balanced Diet

Correcting deficiencies or just improving your pet’s diet can be accomplished with a pet vitamin supplement. However, you should remember the important fact that minerals and vitamins work in combination. In addition to any treatment you should find a pet vitamin supplement that has well balanced minerals and vitamins. You can choose from a wide range of diet options today to ensure your pet’s health. To improve their diet and keep them healthy you have lots of opportunities. A lot of support and help to enable your pet’s immune system and boost its functioning can be offered by pet vitamin supplements. For both cats and dogs there are multivitamins that are available as tablets to chew or powder that can be mixed in their food. There is also the whole food option which is used to develop a natural pet vitamin supplement.

All pets are different and have different needs, there is no wonder pet vitamin supplement that will work on all pets. Going to the vet is definitely the best option if you want to ensure a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet for your pet.
Scientists created synthetic vitamins that are cheap to make and are said to be identical in their atomic structure when compared to whole vitamins (Vitamins directly from vegetables). However, when polarized light was placed through these synthetic vitamins, the light acted much differently than when placed through whole vitamins. When polarized light is placed through whole vitamins, the light beam bends to the right due to its molecular rotation. When this same light passes through a synthetic vitamin, the beam split in half. Half of the light will always bend right while the other half always bends left. This proves that we have not created an identical vitamin and this is why synthetic vitamins only give you 50% of biological activity as compared to whole vitamins. In fact, research studies show that synthetic vitamins can be dangerous to your health! Synthetic stripped down processed vitamins are currently being sold in almost every brand name supplement today.

One way that people can help ensure overall health is to take a complete supplement that is designed to meet all of their nutritional needs.
What’s round in shape, orange in color, rich in pro-vitamin A, vitamins C and B9 and is 100% natural? It’s a cantaloupe, the delicious melon that the whole world is raving about. The Cantaloupe is easily one of the most popular fruits in the world today. It is indeed hard to a person who hasn’t tasted this delicious fruit before. The rising popularity of Cantaloupe all around can be attributed to 2 aspects, viz. its great taste and its many health benefits. Let’s take a bite into this delicious and healthy offering from Mother Nature.

Cantaloupe has long been a favorite with the health-conscious populace. What makes the cantaloupe an excellent natural source of good health is the fact that it is not only low in calories, but is also a great source of pro-vitamin A, vitamin C and beta carotene. In fact, One serving (¼ of a medium melon) provides more than 400 percent of your daily vitamin A, and it also provides nearly 100 percent of your daily vitamin C!

The most important benefit, however, lies in the fact that the fruit is a great source of polyphenol antioxidants, chemicals which are known to provide certain health benefits to the cardiovascular system and immune system. These chemicals are known to regulate the formation of nitric oxide, a key chemical in promoting health of the endothelium and prevention of heart attacks.

Cantaloupe is easy to obtain and is available in abundance in many parts of the world. It is a common sight in most fresh fruit stores and health malls. The Internet is teeming with online stores selling Cantaloupe online. Some of the biggest names in the fresh fruit retailing business have added cantaloupe to their inventory. Sundia Corporation, a name which has become synonymous with the finest and freshest of watermelons, has started selling cantaloupe as well. In fact, the cantaloupe is an important product offering from Sundia Corporation. While Sundia has been a big name in the Watermelon market, they have now started offering other melons like Cantaloupe and Honeydew to the market. If you are looking to buy premium Cantaloupe products, Sundia is the name for you. Sundia Cantaloupe and cantaloupe products are sold in the produce and refrigerated sections of grocery stores in the US.

Time for some Cantaloupe trivia. How do you identify a good cantaloupe without cutting it? Good quality cantaloupe will have a netted skin, with a yellow/orange coloring and be slightly soft on the stem end. A good cantaloupe should ideally have the musky smell on the stem end and the scar on the stem should be a smooth well-rounded cavity. Often you can hear the seeds rattle inside a cantaloupe if you shake it. Most cantaloupes will have a bleached side that rested on the soil. However, this would not have any impact on the quality of the cantaloupe.

Leaving an uncut Cantaloupe at room temperature for two to four days makes the fruit softer and juicier. Cantaloupe lovers will know that it is normally eaten as a fresh fruit, as a salad or as a dessert with ice cream and custard. Cantaloupe pieces wrapped in prosciutto are one of the favorite starters for most gourmets.

By: Jennifer Salerno

About the Author:
